The Cure – one of the most influential and iconic bands of all time – will headline Live From Wythenshawe Park next year on Friday 21st August 2026. With a concert from one of alternative music’s most influential acts, 2026 is set to be another huge summer at Wythenshawe Park in Manchester.
Formed in Crawley, Sussex, in the late 1970s, The Cure have shaped the sound of generations with their unmistakable style and uncompromising artistry. Since their first show in 1978, they have performed nearly 1,800 concerts worldwide, released 14 studio albums, more than 40 singles, a collection of concert films, live albums, box sets, books, soundtracks and much more. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019, The Cure continue to define alternative music nearly five decades into their career.
Joining them will be shoegaze pioneers Slowdive, whose shimmering soundscapes and acclaimed return to form have earned them a new generation of fans. Alongside Manchester’s own The Slow Readers Club, one of the city’s most compelling live acts, known for their anthemic blend of indie and electro-driven rock.
Live from Wythenshawe Park has quickly become one of Manchester’s most anticipated live music series, welcoming major headline acts to the city for unforgettable summer shows. Following recent performances from the likes of Sam Fender, New Order, and Fontaines D.C., the series has cemented Wythenshawe Park as a world-class outdoor concert destination.
